ARUBA'S GUIDE TO WELLNESS

ARUBA'S GUIDE TO WELLNESS

Many visitors say that Aruba is the most relaxing place they’ve ever visited. There’s something about the warm, dry air and cooling trade winds that help people unwind during their island vacation.

As soon as you unpack, reserve a treatment in one of Aruba’s spas. Many resorts offer massages and facials right on the beach, featuring aloe cultivated on this beautiful island.  If you like to relax and rejuvenate with a little physical activity, try a morning run on the beach, a yoga class at one of the resorts or even try something new, like paddleboard yoga.

Spas in Aruba

Spas in Aruba are numerous in quantity, style, and options but each presents a perfect way to reclaim a sense of wellbeing with a diverse menu of treatments, half-day and full-day packages at your disposal. Situated in lush tropical surroundings, surrender to full body treatments that include Shiatsu, Swedish Massage, Hydrotherapy, Aromatherapy, and nourishing Wraps. Indulge in skin care regimes such as facials, manicures, pedicures, Paraffin treatments, hair care, and expert makeup application. Relax and let Aruba’s natural attributes do the rest. Spas can be found at all major hotels on the island.

Yoga in Aruba

Yoga in Aruba is a relaxing and healthy way to enjoy your vacation. And the Aruban beaches, wonderful climate, and cooling winds provide ideal conditions for yoga classes and yoga exercises on the beach. Especially in the cooler hours of the day, while enjoying a beautiful sunrise or sunset, it is wonderful to do your Yoga exercises. Yoga is given on the beach and other outdoor locations, but there are also several yoga studios that offer yoga classes indoors such as Happy Buddha Aruba, Jet Yoga, Prana Aruba, and Sahaja Yoga Meditation. For those searching for a yoga retreat,  Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa offers special packages for a Caribbean yoga experience. Relax a week during your yoga vacation and follow yoga classes at Eagle Beach, where you look out over the widest beach of Aruba.

SUP Yoga

Very popular is SUP yoga. This unique form of yoga takes place on the water where you exercise on an extra wide surfboard, called Stand Up Paddle Board. Hence the name SUP yoga. The ocean in Aruba is perfect for SUP yoga since the water is generally very calm with little waves. Try it out for instance at Aruba Active Vacations, Aruba Hawaiian Canoe,  Aruba Kayak Adventures, Aruba Surf & Paddle School, Stand Up Paddle Aruba and Vela Windsurf Center.

Famous Swedish yoga instructor Rachel Brathen, a.k.a Yoga Girl has made SUP Yoga very popular in Aruba and many tourists flock to Aruba for her exclusive yoga classes.

Try for example a sun salutation on the water:

Windsurfing

Windsurfing can be classified as both an extreme sport and as a recreational activity. Cooling trade winds, year-round great weather and calm shallow waters make Aruba a windsurfer’s paradise and one of the best windsurfing destinations in the Caribbean. At the Fisherman’s Huts, the shallow waters and the gentle winds ensure a rejuvenating experience.  For those who are advanced windsurfers and not afraid of a little competition; you should definitely participate in the annual Aruba High-Winds competition, the largest windsurfing competition of the Caribbean. This popular sporting event has been attracting windsurfers from around the globe for almost 30 years!

The largest amateur windsurfing and kite boarding competition in the world takes place every year in Aruba. Hundreds of competitors vie for medals in various categories. While most of the kite boarding competitions take place on the southern end of the island at Boca Grandi, the majority of the events take place at Fisherman’s Huts, just past The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba. Hi-Winds is a great spectator event as well, with a full agenda of beach parties, fashion shows, and concerts to enjoy.

Come see for yourself why our One Happy Island is the perfect place for you to get relaxed and renewed!

* Vendors for windsurfing are named in the above SUP yoga paragraph.
