Celebrations at the Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino

May was an overall busy month at Tropicana Aruba as we celebrated Mother’s Day with our team members – all our moms received a gift to celebrate their day. We also celebrated winning 2^nd place for the “Happiness Day” events with our team.

Additionally, it’s been business as usual as renovations continue for the next 100 rooms. In the northern half of the Sunrise Tower progress is being made on a daily basis and we are looking forward to having the renovated rooms available by the end of this year! New tiles have arrived and are being placed in the new rooms. In addition to the work being done on the Sunrise Tower we’re updating the exterior of the entire complex replacing the light fixtures.

Every year in celebration of Kings Day when we celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the King of the Netherlands, Willem III, our Governor, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt recognized eight  outstanding Aruban citizens as members of the Orange Nassau. This award is given to those members of society who fulfil an exceptional role in the community with their voluntary contribution.

Among these eight citizens was our team member Anna Maria Richardson who works in our Accounting Department and is a much appreciated team member. Anna has been leading the  San Nicolas scouting group St. Paulus Michael for 35 years and is well-known in our community for her charity work. We are very proud to have Anna on our team and we salute her for being the recipient of such a distinguished recognition.
