Keep the following in mind before your trip back home

Attestation form

The U.S. government requires all non-U.S. citizen flying to the U.S. to complete the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) attestation confirming they meet the vaccination entry requirements. Please check with airline directly.

Check-in time

Make sure to arrive at the Aruba Airport 3 hours before your scheduled departure time. You will go through both a local Aruban passport and customs control, followed by a similar process at the US Customs & Border Protection (second passport and custom control) as US customs pre-clearance is available in Aruba. This way you will skip any additional security controls upon arrival in the US.

Global entry

In the event of Global Entry approval, you can make use of this fast-track option at US Customs & Border Protection in Aruba.

For any global entry interview to be accepted is determined by three steps:
1.    $100 admission fee to be paid in full to start the process
2.    After paying the admission fee it does not mean you meet the requirements for the CBP interview. This is determined by a conditional approval after checking your background information to be assessed as a likely candidate to be allowed an interview. After this has been accepted, you can go forward to the next step.
3.    The third step consists of the interview itself. This interview can take place in Aruba at the airport.  Interviews take approx. 10-15 mins for clearance on your global entry membership.

Clearance depends on your travel history, criminal record, and sometimes difficulty in categorizing your last name. Due to this, the estimated waiting time to get approved can take up to a year after the interview has been made to assess and address information that was shared, withheld or missed during the interview.

U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents and citizens of the following countries are eligible for Global Entry membership:
•    Citizens of Argentina
•    Citizens of Brazil
•    Citizens of Bahrain
•    Citizens of India
•    Citizens of Colombia
•    Citizens of United Kingdom
•    Citizens of Germany
•    Citizens of The Netherlands
•    Citizens of Panama
•    Citizens of Singapore
•    Citizens of South Korea
•    Citizens of Switzerland
•    Citizens of Taiwan
•    Mexican nationals

Travel efficiently

Enhance the overall process of going through two security controls, and keep travel documents such as passport and boarding pass at hand, dispose of all liquids before entering the screening posts, wear shoes that are easy to take on and off and make sure to place all electronics and belts separately in a bin as per TSA requirements. There are two security controls as travelers have access to checked luggage during the US pre-clearance process and need to be re-screened.

Mobile Passport Control (MPC)

Mobile Passport Control (MPC) allows eligible travelers to submit their travel document, photo, and customs declaration information through a free, secure app on their smartphone or other mobile device. The use of MPC streamlines the traveler’s entry process into the United States by reducing passport control inspection time and overall wait time. Use of MPC does not require pre-approval. Travelers who successfully use the MPC app will no longer have to complete a paper form or use an APC kiosk. As a result, travelers may experience shorter wait times, less congestion and efficient processing.

Eligible travelers with a smartphone or tablet may voluntarily download the Mobile Passport Control (MPC)-enabled mobile application (app) from a mobile application store (e.g., Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

The MPC mobile app, is available to U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, and Canadian B1/B2 citizens visitors. MPC is currently available at 48 sites, including 33 U.S. International Airports, 11 Preclearance locations, and 4 seaports of entry, including Aruba Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA).

Passengers should double-check their departure times and coordinate with their hotels, tour operators, and transportation companies in order to ensure that they will arrive at the right time.
